Background
Oxford Technologies Ltd was established in 2000 by the managers and engineers who, for more than 10 years, had provided the remote handling service for the JET nuclear fusion research project. The JET remote handling system was, and remains, the world’s only operational remote maintenance system for a nuclear Fusion machine. Since 2000 the Oxford Technologies team has continued to support and develop JET and has also been working with many new clients to provide fit-for-purpose and cost-effective solutions for many remote handling problems.

Staff
The Company treats its staff as its primary investment and only the highest quality of personnel are employed by Oxford Technologies Ltd. Over 90% of the staff are degree qualified and more than 20% have higher degrees. Collectively the Oxford Technologies staff has over 200 person-years of experience in the design, development and operation of remote handling systems. The management of Oxford Technologies Ltd strives for best performance and maximum flexibility from its staff by investing in their development and in recognition that the company prospers only as a result of their efforts it has been a principle since inception to ensure that the company is 100% owned by the employees.

The Company is fully committed to the exercise of the necessary management and technical controls to achieve the highest quality in its services and products. It is the policy of the Company that all activities are performed in accordance with formal arrangements for the assurance of quality taking account of best international practices. Since 2005 the Oxford Technologies Ltd Management System has been formally recognised as compliant with the ISO 9001:2000 standard.
Facilities
Oxford Technologies Ltd is able to call on many support resources both from within and outside the company in the implementation of a contract. The company staff are experienced with a wide range of CAD tools, Visualisation systems, Engineering Analysis tools, Operations Analysis tools, Real-time and non real-time systems development tools and a suite of hardware development facilities.
