In August, Oxford Technologies hosted a visit from John Warden, Nuclear Institute CEO, who toured the company’s Abingdon facility and tried out the remote handling technology for himself, as well as taking the opportunity to brief the staff on the Nuclear Institute and its role in the industry.
Following the visit, John Warden said: “I was very impressed by the engineering skills and enthusiasm on display at Oxford Technologies and thoroughly enjoyed getting to operate the equipment. The Nuclear Institute is well placed to help SMEs such as Oxford Technologies to develop and maintain the nuclear professionalism of their staff through our membership activities and the NI’s Nuclear Delta (TM) and I look forward to continued collaboration with OTL.”
MD, Dr. Alan Rolfe, commented; “We were delighted to be able to welcome John Warden to meet everyone at OTL and see for himself the range of technology and skills that we offer in providing remote handling solutions to the UK’s nuclear industry. Our achievements over the last twelve months prove that UK engineering SMEs can compete successfully in one of the world’s most technically challenging, competitive environments.”
